How We Look After the Rainforest

Our Mission

Where We Work

Our tours run in the Wet Tropics World Heritage Area, on Eastern Kuku Yalanji Country. We keep our groups small, and below is exactly what we do to reduce our impact and give back.

What We Do

Digital Paperwork
Our waivers and tour manifests are digital, so we don't print them for each tour. The only things we still print are our brochures.
Rainwater for Washing
In the wet season we wash wetsuits and vehicles with rainwater from our tanks, and in the drier months we use bore water.
Solar at Our Base
About 70% of the electricity at our base comes from our own solar panels and battery. The rest comes from the grid, and our tour vehicles still run on fuel.
Refillable Bottles
On the Mossman Gorge Adventure Day, every guest gets a reusable water bottle, so we don't hand out bottled water.

Supporting Rainforest Rescue

We're a business partner of Rainforest Rescue, a not-for-profit that buys back and replants Daintree lowland rainforest. Guests can add a donation to their booking, and from January 2023 to June 2026 they gave A$6,745, which we pass on in full. We also won a A$6,000 prize for Rainforest Rescue, bringing the total we've raised for them to more than A$12,700.

Learning on Every Tour

Every tour includes time with your guide learning how the rainforest and the river work, and why they're worth protecting.
