Back Country Bliss Adventures has been running small-group rainforest adventures in Tropical North Queensland since 2004. Our tours immerse you in the beauty of the Mossman River and Daintree Rainforest, blending adventure with a deep respect for the river, the rainforest and its Traditional Owners.

Our signature River Drift Experience, a first-of-its-kind in Australia, takes you on a diverse journey through the rainforest. Allowing guests to trek along a dry riverbed, navigate through gentle rapids, and float beneath the lush canopy of ancient trees.

Caring for Country and Community

We proudly partner with Indigenous-owned businesses, incorporating their cultural experiences into our tours. We're a business partner of Rainforest Rescue, and our guests' donations help it buy back and replant Daintree rainforest. We've been ECO Certified by Ecotourism Australia since 2018. Where It All Started

Founded in 2004 by outdoor enthusiasts Barnaby Marris and Michaela Flood, Back Country Bliss Adventures introduced the River Drift Snorkelling tour, the first of its kind in Australia. From the outset, their vision was small-group, educational adventures that showed people the rainforest up close. This vision continues to shape the experiences we offer today.

Evolving with Passion and Purpose

In 2016, the Heffernan Family took the reins of Back Country Bliss Adventures, infusing the business with fresh energy while staying true to the original vision. They have kept the founders' small-group, nature-first approach while introducing new experiences, and the company has grown into an ECO Certified tour operator that keeps evolving while maintaining a deep respect for the environment.
